coffee exports earn $525.2 mln

Ethiopia, Africa's largest coffee
producer, earned $525.2 million in coffee exports in 2007/08, less than an
expected $540.2 million, a ministry of trade official said on Tuesday.
"Ethiopia exported 170,888 tonnes of coffee and earned $525.2 million during
June/July 2007/08 period compared with 176,390 tonnes that fetched $424.2
million in 2006/07," Girma Gelelcha, an export official told Reuters.

government and its armed opposition have issued separate claims of victory
after Islamist insurgents attacked military posts in the capital Mogadishu
yesterday, Radio Garowe reported. Dahir Mohamed Hersi, who spoke for
Somalia's military, told reporters Monday that government troops killed 12
rebel fighters during yesterday's clashes.

district in the north of Somali capital, Mogadishu. The Ethiopian soldiers
entered Pasta base in north Mogadishu early Sunday, a Press TV correspondent
